In 2017, Scooby-Doo's Rescue Mission Applied to be a New Hope Partner with the NYACC, BACC and the SIACC Shelters Of New York. It was what we originally set out to do..SAVE DOGS ON DEATH ROW. It seemed almost impossible. Our application sat somewhere. Then one day an email came threw. "Can you help with two Piglets" I looked and laughed. We are a dog rescue I thought. What am I going to do with piglets? I know people with farms. I can get them a great home. So I replied back Yes. That afternoon I drove out to Brooklyn. Now I have never been to any of these facilities and social media has painted a dismal vision in my head. The vision of the devils Dungeon. When I arrived, what a surprise it was clean. People were smiling and FRIENDLY!! OMG!! This is where I met some of the New Hope Liasons. They showed me around. Introduced me. Yes I am known as the "pig lady" but that is okay. Well, when I heard the word "piglet" I thought small. Right?? Yea...NO!! NEGATIVE!! These two pigs...were 75 lbs each.. Well, the staff loaded them up in my famly van (the pigs squealled LOUDLY)
Well, sadly one pig, I named him Oggy was sick. He ended up being put down by the Vet due to neurological issues possibly due to eating something bad out on the streets. Rest in Peace Oggy.
But today Wilbur is thriving up at Teveland on the border of Mahwah, NJ and New York State. He is part of a sanctuary that is part of an educational program.
Wilbur loves his new home. He even has a girlfriend
Thank you Wilbur and Oggy. Because of you Scooby-Doo's Rescue Mission is now saving lives off of Death Row and placing them in loving homes.
